Indonesia

Sail Across a World of Discovery

Untamed nature and the world’s greatest marine biodiversity

Indonesia is one of the most biologically rich yacht charter destinations on Earth — a vast archipelago of over 17,000 islands where dense jungles meet turquoise seas and ancient wildlife still roams free. A yacht charter here is defined by raw nature, remote cruising, and experiences found nowhere else.

Sailing regions such as Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat, and Bali highlight the country’s extraordinary diversity. Komodo Island is home to the legendary Komodo dragons, the world’s largest living lizards, while surrounding waters reveal dramatic coastlines, pink-sand beaches, and secluded anchorages. Bali blends tropical landscapes with deep-rooted traditions, temples, and vibrant coastal culture, making it a natural starting point for Indonesia yacht charters.

Located at the heart of the Coral Triangle, Indonesia offers the planet’s richest marine biodiversity. Raja Ampat alone hosts over 1,400 fish species and around 75% of all known coral species, while world-class diving and snorkeling in Raja Ampat, Komodo, Bali, and Lembeh Strait feature manta rays, sea turtles, reef sharks, and tiger shark encounters alongside thriving coral reefs.

From jungle-covered islands to legendary dive sites and rare wildlife encounters, Indonesia delivers a yacht charter experience shaped by untamed nature and exploration.

Expedition-Style Cruising at True Scale

Indonesia’s vast archipelago delivers a sense of exploration unmatched by most yacht charter regions. Remote anchorages, uninhabited islands, and long, scenic passages create a genuine expedition experience far removed from resort-driven cruising.

The World’s Richest Marine Biodiversity

Located at the heart of the Coral Triangle, Indonesia is home to the highest concentration of marine life on the planet. Destinations like Raja Ampat offer an extraordinary density of coral and fish species, setting Indonesia apart from the Maldives, Thailand, and the Caribbean.

Living Cultures Across Thousands of Islands

Indonesia’s islands are shaped by centuries-old traditions, with over 300 languages and distinct cultures spread across the archipelago. From coastal villages and traditional boatbuilding to temples, ceremonies, and daily island life, yacht travel offers rare access to cultures that remain deeply connected to the sea.

Best time to visit

  • April – October: Dry season — calm seas, good visibility, and stable weather make it the best time for yacht charters. Peak demand and pricing in popular areas. Water temperature: 80–84°F.

  • November – March: Wet season — higher humidity and regional rainfall. Fewer yachts, greener landscapes, high probability of rain. Itineraries may be adapted for local conditions. Water temperature: 81–85°F.

Key Sailing & Wildlife Seasons

  • Komodo & Bali (May – October): Dry season brings calm seas and steady winds. Ideal for island-hopping, snorkeling, and encounters with manta rays and whale sharks.

  • Raja Ampat (November – February): Calm seas for diving in the Coral Triangle, with fewer crowds and abundant reef fish, turtles, and marine biodiversity.

  • Banda Sea & Spice Islands (March–April & September–November): Transitional months for smooth ocean crossings, with reef and pelagic species active along the route.

  • Birdwatching & Exotic Wildlife (November – March): Wet season brings vibrant jungle activity and migratory bird sightings, however higher probability of rain.
